KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli said he was delighted to experience a sense of unity over the Constitution amendment bill that was presented in the House of Representatives (HoR) to implement the new map.
Answering lawmakers’ questions at the HoR on Wednesday, PM Oli expressed happiness saying that the Nepali people have stood firm to prove that they would not deter from their position when it comes to national issues.
“We know that our forefathers fought to save the land,” he said adding, “Now it’s our responsibility to protect our land,” said Oli.
Meanwhile, the government is also receiving support from all quarters including the main opposition Nepali Congress in the course of curbing the coronavirus pandemic.
PM Oli said the parliament should get the credit for the constitution amendment, not a single person.
He was referring to Tuesday’s unanimous approval of the proposal seeking consideration on the constitution amendment bill submitted by the government to the House of Representatives.
The ‘Proposal to consider the Second Amendment Bill of the Constitution of Nepal’ was unanimously approved.
