ICC Cricket WC League 2: Oman beats Nepal by 8 wickets

KATHMANDU: Oman won against Nepal by 8 wickets in the 3rd match of the tri-series in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Nepal on Sunday.

Oman reached the 250-target set by Nepal in 47.2 overs losing just 2 wickets.

Earlier, Nepal has set a 250-run target for Oman at the ongoing One Day International (ODI) cricket match.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal notched up 249 runs in the allotted 50 overs losing eight wickets. Skipper Gyanendra Malla made 56 runs including six fours and one six off 76 balls while Paras Khadka made 38 runs including six fours and one six off 34 balls while Kushal Malla contributed 35 runs off 47 balls.

In reply, Oman’s Aqib Ilyas grabbed four wickets of Nepal conceding 36 runs in 10 overs and Mohammad Nadeem took three wickets giving away 44 runs in eight overs.

Earlier, Nepal had faced an 18-run defeat at the hands of Oman at the opening match three days ago.
