Province 1 reports 87 fresh cases of COVID-19



BIRATNAGAR:  Province 1 reported five coronavirus-related deaths and 87 fresh cases in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Social Development of Province 1, out of 587 swabs tested for coronavirus in various labs in the Province, 87 including 59 males and 28 females have tested positive.

The Ministry said there have been 36 new cases of coronavirus in Jhapa, 15 in Morang, 13 in Ilam, 12 in Sunsari, three in Sankhuwasabha, two in Udayapur and one in Taplejung lately.

In the meantime, five of the swabs collected from the people outside Province 1 also tested coronavirus positive in this province.

With this, the number of coronavirus cases in the Province has reached 28,502 till Wednesday.

Likewise, the province got 62 people discharged from various isolation centers taking the discharged case tally to 23,405 now.

The Ministry reported that 398 people including 125 females and 273 males are receiving treatment against coronavirus pandemic at present.

The province witnessed five COVID-19 related cases on Wednesday.
