NHRC condemns murder of school headmaster by Biplav-led faction



KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has condemned the murder of Rajendra Shrestha, a school headmaster, by Netra Bikram Chand-led faction.

Shrestha, 54, of Barkhe in Miklajung rural municipality 1, was murdered by the outlawed Biplav faction on Tuesday morning by abducting him from his house.

The NHRC has urged the party to not resort to violent activities against people disagreeing with the party’s ideology.

The NHRC has also urged all concerned to respect the right to live of every individual.

It has also asked the government to take action against those involved in the murder of Shrestha and provide compensation to the family of the victim.

The Biplav-led faction had on Tuesday evening owned up the murder.
