Security Committee discussing country’s security situation

NCP Biplav outfit and monarchist activities discussed



KATHMANDU: The National Security Committee’ meeting is being held at the Ministry of Home Affairs today.

According to the Ministry sources, citing the increasing instances of violence from the outlawed Nepal Communist Party (Biplav) and the growing protests demanding restoration of monarchy and unitary system in the country, Home Ministry called for the meeting of national security committee at Singh Durbar.

“The meeting will assess the latest security situation in relation with NCP Biplav outfit’s murder of a headmaster in Morang and the protests against federalism organized by the monarchists in the country,” the Ministry source said.

The meeting chaired by Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa will be attended by IGP Sailesh Thapa Chhetri, IGP Shailendra Khanal, Ganesh Adhikari the Chief of National Investigation Department among other high officials of security forces.
