Corruption either big or small will not be tolerated: PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has vehemently stated that the government will not tolerate corruption cases at all.

Delivering a message on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day on Wednesday, Prime Minister Oli said the government has underlined the need to bring the COVID-19-hit Nepal into normalcy by maintaining good governance.

Corruption, either big or small in size and regardless of the person whoever does it, is a serious crime and it will not be excusable, said Oli.

“Cases of corruption cannot be determined based on a single tip-off, it should be investigated thoroughly and scientifically before coming into a conclusion,” said Oli, claiming, “The incidents of corruption has drastically come down in the period of two years since he took charge as the prime minister of Nepal.”

Calling for cooperation from all the government and non-government organizations, community and media outlets to control corruption, Prime Minister Oli stressed the need to change our attitude, culture, habits and social norms and values for a drastic change in the country.

Similarly, Acting Chief Commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority Dr Ganesh Raj Joshi, Commissioner Sabitri Thapa Gurung expressed their commitments to actively work towards ending corruption cases on the occasion.
