Dahal-Nepal to call SC meeting if not convened by Tuesday

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal are making preparations to hold a Secretariat Committee (SC) meeting in case Prime Minister Oli did not convene the meeting by Tuesday.

On November 7, Executive Chairman Dahal, Senior leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal, Vice Chairman Bamdev Gautam and Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha had handed over a written memorandum calling for party meetings.

In response, the Prime Minister had said he would soon call a meeting following consultations with the task-force members.

Meanwhile, General Secretary Bishnu Paudel reached Khumaltar this morning to coax disgruntled Dahal. During the meeting with Dahal, Paudel said the Prime Minister would call the meeting as per the provision of the Constitution.

Secretariat members had advised Oli to call the party meetings within 15 days as per the provisions of the Constitution.
