Action taken against five pharmacies in Nuwakot



NUWAKOT: Action has been taken against five pharmacies in Nuwakot for selling medicines without invoice.

The Department of Drug Administration, the District Administration Office, Nuwakot and the District Police Office found out that five pharmacies in Bidur, the district headquarters, were involved in such activities.

Authorities have slapped fines totaling Rs 10 million on them.

Each pharmacy namely Sapkota Medical Hall at Bidur Municipality-2, Samman Medical Hall and Battar Polyclinic and Anjana Medical Hall and Bidur Pharmacy at at Bidur Municipality-4 and Samir Pharmacy in Bidur Municipality-1 have been fined Rs 200,000, Chief District Officer of Nuwakot, Jhangnath Dhakal said.

The pharmacies have been asked to deposit the fine in bank account within seven days and provide a copy of the deposit slip to the District Administration Office in Nuwakot.

Likewise, the team has also taken action against some pharmacies running without meeting basic criteria.

The Chayanath Medical Hall and Deurali Pharmacy at Myagang Rural Municipality-3 were running without registration.

These pharmacies were sealed off. Likewise, the Tadi Pharma and Dhupcheshwor Pharmacy at Tadi Rural Municipality in the district were also fined Rs 10,000 each for not having purchase bill.
