Heavy rains likely as cyclone develops at Bay of Bengal

KATHMANDU: Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted heavy rains in Nepal with a cyclone being developed near the Bay of Bengal.

Heavy rains will occur in Nepal if the cyclone surged towards north, said Samir Shrestha, a meteorologist.

“The cyclone will cause rains in Province 1 and 4 if the cyclone surged towards north,” said Shrestha, adding, “Its impact will be known by Saturday.

Even though the low pressure monsoon system is gradually subsiding at the north-west Bengal, its minor impact is still existing, which is likely to cause rains in Province 1.
