Sandeep’s team Jamaica loses to Knight Riders by 9 wickets



KATHMANDU: Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane’s team Jamaica Tallawahs has lost to Trinbago Knight Riders by nine wickets in the first semi-final match under the Caribbean Premier League on Tuesday night.

Chasing the 108-run target set by Jamaica, Knight Riders achieved the target in 15 overs losing only one wicket in the match held at Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Knight Riders’ Lendl Simmons made a half century 54 runs to secure win for the team.
Similarly, Tion Webster hit 44 runs and remained unbeaten.

In reply, Jamaica’s Mujeeb took one wicket and Sandeep Lamichhane conceded 29 runs in four overs without taking any wickets.

Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Jamaica had notched up 107 runs losing seven wickets in 20 overs. Jamaica’s batsman Nkrumah Bonner had made highest 41 runs, Captain Rovman Powell hit 33 runs while Carlos Brathwaite contributed 13 runs and remained unbeaten.

In reply, Knight Riders’ Akeal Hosein took three wickets while Khary Pierre took two wickets to limit the opponent to paltry 107 runs.
