Chinese Ambassador Hou doesn’t look back; holds ‘one-on-one’ talks with Dahal

KATHMANDU: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi has continued her efforts to keep the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

On Thursday, she held ‘one-on-one’ talks with NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at the latter’s residence in Khumaltar and discussed the latest political developments and the NCP row.

Amid criticism, Chinese Ambassador Hou has intensified her meetings with the leaders of the ruling NCP over the past days.

She has already met with President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister KP Oli, NCP senior leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal in the past two weeks.

Chinese Ambassador Hou has in recent times, intensified political meetings as the ruling NCP is currently in crisis, which observers say is on the verge of split.

In May, the NCP averted a possible party split in which Ambassador Hou had played a major role to keep the party intact.
