KATHMANDU: Sarita Giri of the Samajwadi Party Nepal has been formally relieved from the post of member of the House of Representatives (HoR).

The party had earlier this week expelled her from the party and the Parliament for violating the party whip on the Constitution amendment bill that was brought to implement Nepal’s revised map.

The Samajwadi Party Nepal had also written to the Federal Parliament Secretariat to inform about the party’s decision to expel her.

Bharat Raj Gautam, General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat today issued a notice to inform that Giri has been removed from the post of the lawmaker announced that the post has been vacant now.

It should be noted that Giri had registered an amendment proposal against the Constitution amendment bill in the Parliament Secretariat claiming that Nepal lacked evidences to establish that Kalapani, Limpiyadhura, and Lipu Lekh belongs to Nepal.
