‘Seven vehicles, 1,015 official goods disappear from PAF’

KATHMANDU: The National Vigilance Center (NVC) has pointed out huge irregularities in the fund of the Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) aimed at improving quality-life of the grassroots.

A report of a probe committee formed under the NVC has said seven vehicles and as many as 1,015 office materials including gadgets have disappeared from the office of the PAF.

An official record shows a total of 2,431 official goods during the period between fiscal year 062/63 to 074/75 (BS) of the PAF, according to the inspection report.

Of them, 1,015 items including telephone, pen-drive, camera, gas cylinder sofa, chair, fan among others worth over Rs 41,472,248 have been lost from the office itself.

According to the Center’s report, vehicles worth over Rs 23,294,000 have also been disappeared.
Seven vehicles including two Hundai Terracan Jeeps worth Rs 4,397,000 each, three Nissan pick-up vans worth Rs 3,600,000 each and two Toyota cars worth Rs 1,800,000 have disappeared.
