Security bodies combating COVID-19 in frontline: Home Minister Thapa

KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa has said that the security personnel were in the frontline contributing to the nation’s fight against the deadly COVID-19.

While responding to the queries raised under the heading of his Ministry during deliberations on the Appropriation Bill 2077 BS at the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today, Minister Thapa argued that the security bodies were alert in managing the security along with taking responsibility to reach people to their destination if found stranded along the road.

Security bodies were providing security to quarantines, isolation and other vulnerable places with high morale.
He said 1,213 border outpost (BOP) were established at the southern border stopping arbitrary entry to the country without health check-up. More BOPs are being set up.

He said the government was alert and serious in controlling crimes, riots and any other kind of security threat to the society.
