24 more persons infected with COVID-19 in Gandaki province

POKHARA: Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 24 more people in Gandaki province this morning. They are from Nawalparasi, Myagdi and Baglung districts of the province.

Among the 24 new cases, 12 are male between 18 and 40 years from Baudikali rural municipality of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East); 11 males including three between 21 and 27 years from Nishikhola rural municipality and eight between 18 and 27 years from Bareng rural municipality of Baglung district and one from Myagdi district, the Gandaki Province Health Directorate Pokhara said in a press release today.

The tests for coronavirus infection on the swab samples collected from these persons were carried out at the Western Regional Hospital Pokhara.

All of these people have been living in quarantine at their respective rural municipalities and preparations are being made to shift them to isolation wards at the government hospitals, Directorate’s director and coordinator of Gandaki Province COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Management High-level Committee, Dr Binod Bindu Sharma said.

With this, the number of coronavirus infected persons in Gandaki has reached to 144. COVID-19 cases have been found in all nine districts of the State except Manang and Mustang.
