DPR of  three among four smart cities prepared



KATHMANDU: The detailed project report (DPR) of three among the four proposed smart cities has been sent to the Council of Ministers for approval.

A meeting of the Kathmandu Valley Physical Infrastructure Development Committee under the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority took a decision to this effect.

The meeting had been chaired by Minister for Urban Development Basanta Kumar Nembang.

The DPR of three new cities – Kathmandu Ishan, Kathmandu Agneya and Kathmandu Uttar – have been sent to the cabinet, said Bhaikaji Tiwari, Chief Commissioner of the the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority.

The DPR of the fourth proposed city Kathmandu Nairitya is yet to be submitted since the mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City was absent in the meeting.  This new city will be built in Lalitpur district.

As per the proposed plan, Kathmandu Ishan City stretches between Nagarkot to Mulpani (East-North), Kathmandu Agneya City lies between Balkot to Suryabinayak Temple of Bhaktapur district (East-South), Kathmandu Nairitya between Simalkhal of Lalitpur to Khahare Khola (South-West and Kathmandu Uttar City lies around Sankhu area.
