Travel agencies conducting chartered flights against CAAN’s direction

KATHMANDU: Travel agencies have been conducting flights by chartering planes of Nepal Airlines against the direction of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

The CAAN on Sunday had put a ban on the chartered flights except those through the diplomatic missions after the travel agencies and airline companies were found charging exorbitant fares in the name of international flights.

A wide body airbus of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) on Monday evening conducted a flight to Narita of Japan. It was chartered by Serene Travels.

Similarly, the NAC is conducting a flight to Canberra of Australia on Tuesday. Bon Travel and Tours has charted an airbus of NAC for it.

Earlier, Bon Travels and Tours had chartered flights to Sydney and Melbourne.

Similarly, Sumegh Travels is also conducting a chartered flight to Japan on June 14. It has started selling tickets, too.

On the other hand, the CAAN has warned that it would take action against those who violate its direction.

The NAC has informed that the chartered flights conducted on Sunday and Monday have no involvement of diplomatic mission.
