PCR test on priority: Health Minister Dhakal



KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, has said that the government has put on priority the test for coronavirus through PCR method.

At a program organized today at the Ministry to solicit suggestions regarding ministry’s policy and program from lawmakers of the Federal Parliament, Minister Dhakal shared that there was an adequate quantity of kits for the PCR test.

Nepal government received 30,000 kits from the Swiss government 20,000 kits from the Chinese government.

On the occasion, he added that the ministry has deputed special team in Udayapur, Parsa and Nepalgunj, the most risk-prone areas of COVID-19.

Some media made wrong publicity about the test of lawmakers carried out on Thursday, argued the Health Minister.

Kits were sent to states on an equal ratio and special health teams had been sent to more sensitive areas, he added.
