All MPs whose swab was collected Thursday test negative

KATHMANDU: All Member of Parliament (MPs) and staff of the Federal Parliament have tested negative in the COVID-19 test conducted on Thursday.

All 441 persons, including the members of the Parliament, the security personnel and staff have tested negative in the coronavirus test executed as the pandemic prevention in the parliament scheduled to start from Friday.

Their swab was sent to the National Public Health Laboratory, Kathmandu for PCR tests. The NPHL has informed the Secretariat of Federal Parliament about the test result.

179 MPs of House of Representative and 33 MPs of National Assembly had given their swab for COVID-19 test.

Similarly, 229 others, including the personnel and security officials in the Secretariat had also given their swab for coronavirus test.

In collaboration with the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division and Medical Labarotory Association of Nepal, 689 people’s swab was collected from the Secretariat on Thursday and Friday.

According to Krishna Prasad Rijal, the Founder President of MELAN, all the samples of 248 people are undergoing tests at NPHL and the final result of the samples taken on Friday will be provided to the Secretariat by Friday evening.
