Rainstorm damages television and radio towers in Surkhet

SURKHET: Rainstorm has damaged a transmission tower each of Nepal Television and Radio Nepal at Harre in Surkhet district.

High wind accompanied by rain knocked down Radio Nepal’s FM relay station and the television tower, according to Mohan KC, a relay station technician based at Harre.

“The wind knocked down both towers breaking the antenna, and the office building has also been damaged as the towers crashed on its roof,” KC said.

There was, however, no human casualty.

According to Janaki Sharan Saha, Radio Nepal’s province transmission center chief, Radio Nepal’s FM 100 Megahertz transmission has been disrupted as the radio antenna is broken.
