33 jailbirds released from Birgunj jail

PARSA: Amid fears of spreading COVID-19, Birgunj jail has released 33 jailbirds.

As per the decision from the Supreme Court to release the jailbirds who have less than a one year term in prison, 33 prisoners were released today.

Out of the 38 applied in the District court, 33 jailbirds including, two Indians got the permission to get released, Jailer Shrawan Kumar Pokharel said.

Released jailbirds were charged with polygamy, road accidents, hooligans, forgery, drug abuse, among others.
