COVID-19 death toll in Italy surges to 17, 127

KATHMANDU: Italy, the worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has reported 17, 127 deaths from the coronavirus as of Wednesday morning.

According to Wordometer, the number of infection cases has reached 135, 586 after 3, 039 people were infected in the last 24 hours.

Currently, 94, 067 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 3, 792 are critical. Meanwhile, 24, 392 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 209 countries and two international conveyances as of Wednesday morning.
