Light rain with thunder and lightning predicted for eastern, western hilly regions

KATHMANDU: The weather will be partly cloudy in the eastern and western hilly regions and mainly fair in the rest of the country on Sunday.

In a weather bulletin issued for today, the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), said that there are chances of light rain or thunder and lightning at one or two places of the eastern and western hilly regions.

The chance in weather is owing to the influence of the westerly wind.

Meteorologist Shanti Kandel said the Westerly wind entered Nepal since Friday, triggering rainfall throughout the country.

“There is also the influence of the local wind along with the westerly wind as it is the pre-monsoon time,” she said, adding that the rainfall will occur intermittently and not continuously. This weather system will gradually become fair from today”.
