Visiting Bangladeshi Army Chief lays wreaths at Bir Monument

KATHMANDU: Visiting Bangladeshi Army Chief Aziz Ahmed on Saturday laid wreaths at Bir Monument at Sainik Manch Tundikhel in the capital.

A contingent of the Nepal Army offered a guard of honor to Army Chief Ahmed on the premises of the NA Headquarters.

Ahmed arrived Kathmandu on Friday on a five-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of Nepal Army Chief Purna Chandra Thapa.

During his visit, Ahmed reached the Western Division Headquarters in Pokhara.

He is scheduled to call on President of Nepal, Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwor Pokharel, said the NA Directorate of Public Relations and Information.

He is also set to visit and observe Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre in Kavre.

Earlier, NA Chief Thapa visited Bangladesh.
