President Bhandari ‘enthusiastic’ seeing reconstruction progress

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said she was enthusiastic to see the progress in the rebuild of historic ancient heritages.

Following the inspection of Ranipokhari, Dharahara, Kasthamandap and Hanumandhoka Nautale Durbar which are presently under the post-earthquake reconstruction phase, the Head of the State said she was enthusiastic about the progress in the reconstruction efforts.

The President was addressing government senior officials and people’s representatives directly involved in the rebuild of the Basantapur Durbar.

Though the commencement of reconstruction of heritages damaged by the 2015 April earthquake was initially delayed, now everything was going ahead in a right away, the President said. “I wish to thank all those involved in the reconstruction efforts.”

Describing historical heritages as our treasures, the President was of the view of handing such heritages build at different times to the future generation as it is as they are the records of history.

She highlighted the need for motivating the new generation to contribute to the building of a civilized, disciplined and just society.

The State was working by making plans after much thought for the protection of such heritages despite limited capital and technology, she added.
