11 National Pride Projects’ perform below standard

KATHMANDU: Technical quality test, recently carried out by National Vigilance Center, has found the quality of work under 11 National Pride Projects unsatisfactory as they have failed to meet the quality standard deemed essential in such projects.

The Technical Audit Report of National Vigilance Center (NVC) found the performance of 11 national pride projects poor and below the standard.

The Annual Technical Audit Report (2018/19) submitted to Prime Minister K P Oli by NVC has stated that the report of poor performance has been forwarded to the concerned authority for further action.

NVC sources claimed that the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has been working investigating in those projects based on the NVC report.

“After conducting the technical audit, we have suggested the projects to address the lapses and ensure quality in the work done under those projects,” NVC source said to Khabarhub, “the recommendations for correction and further action are based on the Non-Conformance Report prepared by our technical auditor.”

NVC had prepared the technical audit report of Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project Dolakha, Melamchi Drinking Water Project Sindhupalchowk, Bhojpur-Diktel Sector of Mid-Hills Pushpalal Highway, Rani Jamariya Kularia Irrigation Project (main canal and feeder hydro canal) Kailali along with some other projects.
