Rapti Rapids wins CMC Premier League title



CHITWAN: Rapti Rapids has been the first champion of the CMC Chitwan Premier League cricket tournament.
In the final match held at Campachaur of Narayangadh, Rapti defeated Sauraha Sands by 8 wickets.

Batting first after winning the toss, Sauraha had posted a total of 139 runs in the stipulated 20 overs at the loss of four wickets.

In reply, Rapti reached the victory target of 140 runs in 17.4 overs at the loss of two wickets. Captain of Rapti Akash Thapa was adjudged the man of the match for his 74 runs in 57 balls.

Rapti won the champion trophy and Rs. 200,000 in cash prize while Sauraha walked home with Rs. 100,000. Hari Bahadur Chauhan was adjudged the man-of-the-series. Chauhan scored 153 runs and took five wickets in the tournament.

The tournament was organized by Narayani Advertising and Events Limited with the support of the Chitwan Cricket Association. Five teams from the district had taken part in the tournament that began on January 31. Other teams were Bharatpur Gurkhas, Ichhyakamana Warriors, and Madi Tigers.
