Nepal would soon be declared a ‘Chhaupadhi-free’ country: Minister Gurung



KATHMANDU: Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen Parbat Gurung said that the country would be announced a ‘Chaaupadhi-free country’ soon.

Speaking at a program on ‘Chhaugoth’ (menstrual huts), Minister Gurung said that the government plans to formulate a policy to make Nepal a ‘Chhaupadi-free’ country.

Minister Gurung also urged lawmakers representing Sudur Paschim and Karnali Provinces to come up with suggestions to make the campaign a success.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson of Parliamentary Committee on Women and Social Issues, Nirudevi Pal sought cooperation from all sections of the society to make the campaign a success.
