Kathmandu Medical College vandalized



KATHMANDU: Tension has gripped the Sinamangal-based Kathmandu Medical College on Tuesday afternoon after irate relatives of a woman who died in course of treatment vandalized the hospital citing doctors’ negligence for the death.

According to DSP Jitendra Bhandari at Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala, the protestors smashed 10-11 window panes by pelting stones.

The law enforcement agency has arrested nine people for their alleged involvement in the vandalism.

Laxmi Kunwar, 58, of Chhagdol in Nagarjun Municipality-5 died at 1 am today while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

DSP Bhandari said that discussions are underway between the hospital and the victim’s relatives.
