Monarchists took to the streets due to govt’s incompetence: NC

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has accused that the government’s incompetence has created disillusionment among the people and as a result, voices of dissatisfaction have started appearing in the streets.

In an all-party meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday, the main opposition stated that most of the problems will be solved if the government corrects itself.

During the meeting, NC leaders said that the government was not able to carry out its work properly, anti-democratic activities were carried out by the government and it could not play an effective role in controlling the pandemic.

Talking to journalists after the meeting, NC Joint General Secretary Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said that the increase in protests by monarchists across the country was not the fault of the system but the working style of the government.

He said, “The current situation is due to the ineptitude of the government. This is not the flaw of the system. The people running the government need to rectify themselves.”

Demonstrations have been held in different parts of the country of late demanding to restore the monarchy and Hindu nation.
