MORANG: Cadres of the Netra Bikram Chand Biplav-led faction shot dead a teacher in Morang Tuesday morning after abducting him from his house.

Superintendent of Police Santosh Khadka said Rajendra Shrestha, 54, of Barkhe in Miklajung Rural Municipality-1 was shot dead by the Biplav cadres.

Shrestha, a headmaster of the local Saraswoti Primary School, was abducted from his house and taken to a nearby jungle where he was killed by the rebel faction, outlawed by the government.

The teacher was abducted from the house by a group of four to five people this morning, police said. Shrestha was shot in the head.

Police are searching for the abductors.
