Nepali woman commits suicide in Cyprus



NICOSIA:  A Nepali migrant worker has apparently committed suicide in Cyprus.

According to Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Cyprus 23-year-old Shukri Tamang of Gaurishankar rural municipality-8, Dolakha committed on Sunday.

Tamang had gone to Cyprus as a domestic worker in October, 2019 through International Manpower Recruitment Company.

She was in grief over the death of her husband in Nepal which was believed to be the cause behind her suicide. Her husband Subin Tamang, a driver by profession, died in a road accident on Sunday.  She committed suicide later at night.

Preparations are underway to send the body to Nepal, said NRNA, Cyprus.
