10 persons killed in various road accidents



KATHMANDU: As many as 10 people died in road accidents across the country on Saturday.

According to a data made available by Nepal Police, 10 people died in road accidents in different places including Jhapa, Baitadi, Salyan, Bardiya, Siraha, Syangja and Pyuthan districts.

Three persons died when a vehicle with registration number — Lu 1 Jha 2911 — fell some 100 feet down the road in Salyan’s Chatreshwari Rural Municipality-1.

Likewise, a jeep — Ga 1 Jha 2492 — lost control and plunged around 40 meters down the road, killing a 33-year-old passenger in Baitadi district, police said.

A teenager died when a jeep (Lu 1 Cha 2696) fell some 30 meters off the road at Bhirkot Municipality-5 in Syangja.

Similarly, a vehicle — Me 1 Cha 4767 — hit a bicycle injuring the rider, who later died in the course of treatment in Jhapa district.

Likewise, in Bardiya, a motorcycle — Bhe 3 Pa 7870 — and a tractor (Bhe 1 Ta 5099) collided with each other, killing two people dead.

In Siraha, a truck — Na 6 Kha 1565 — hit a pedestrian at Bhulke Chowk in Karjanaha Municipality killing the pedestrian on the spot.

A pedestrian died when a motorcycle — Province 3- 03001 Pa 9989– hit him in Swargadwari Municipality-3 in Pyuthan.
