Two more die of COVID-19 in Dharan



DHARAN: Two coronavirus infected patients have died while undergoing treatment at Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) on Thursday.

BPKIHS Co-spokesperson Dr. Ashish Shrestha said that a 52-year-old man from Damak-1 in Jhapa and a 46-year-old man from Dharan-8 in Sunsari succumbed to the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 infection at the institute has reached 44.

Nepal had recorded 12 new coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 590, the Ministry of Health and Population had stated.

According to the Ministry, eight males and four females have had died of the pandemic. Kathmandu Valley recorded five coronavirus-related deaths.

Nepal had recorded 15 COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the country recorded a total of 4,364 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours in a record high single-day spike.
