‘Warning shots’ fired in along LAC in Ladakh

LADAHK: Warning shots have been fired along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in India’s eastern Ladakh where Indian and Chinese military are engaged in a military standoff, Indian media reports have said.

A government source, however, confirmed the situation has now been brought under control.

The confirmation comes after Chinese Ministry of Defense issued a statement saying there was an instance where shots were fired in the presence of Indian Army and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

Referring to the incident, an Indian army source said “warning shots” were fired after Chinese soldiers fired shots at Indian positions.

There was a limited exchange, media reports said.
