DARCHULA: After the task of construction of Darchula-Tinker sector road construction was assigned to the Nepal Army (NA), a team has arrived in Darchula in the first month of the new fiscal year.

According to Major Bikram Dev Thapa at Durga Dal Company Darchula, a 53 member team of NA headed by Colonel Ramesh Gurung has arrived to initiate action for the construction of the road section.

NA team has reached Khalanga in eight vehicles. Colonel Gurung said that the team will first have the field-based study of the requirements and arrange for the goods required.

He added that the road construction will start from the third week of August.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on April 26 had decided to assign the task of construction of 87 km long Ghantibagar-Tinkar section of road to the national army.

The construction of the Darchula-Tinkar section of the road had started in 2008/09 and 40 km long track of the road is already constructed. NA has been assigned the completion of the construction work on 2020/21.

NA has also constructed 450-meter long horse trail at Ghantibagar. Half of the downward sector of the horse trail construction is nearly over.

NA source added that the construction of the upper section of the main road construction will start soon.
