KMC plans to construct 30 parks in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) plans to construct as many as 30 public parks in Kathmandu in the fiscal year 2020/21.

The KMC will first identify and acquire back the encroached public land and construct parks in a bid to conserve the land.

KMC Bidya Sundar Shakya said that the KMC’s policy is to promote greenery as well as to increase Kathmandu’s beauty.

According to him, the KMC is set to spend Rs 2 million to Rs 60 million to construct each of the parks.

A total of Rs 270 million has been earmarked for the project.
