KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattaarai has said that a fund of 100 billion rupees has been established for providing relief loan and reviving the tourism sector in the new budget.
Similarly, 50 billion rupees fund would be managed for reviving the COVID-19 hit tourism sector.
Minister Bhattarai shared that the tourist entrepreneurs could borrow loans and tax and interest could be exempted in such cases.
He further opined to manage loans in five per cent interest to revive the COVID-19-hit tourism sector. He further shared that the plane landing tax was reduced and infrastructure tax in fuel was also reduced to assist the airlines entrepreneurs.
Minister Bhattarai added that the budget has been managed for different programs to give momentum to domestic tourism. He also said that one cultural village in each State was managed in the budget to promote local cultures. He opined to complete the construction works of Gautam Buddha International airport and Pokhara International Airport. Similarly, the construction works of Nijgadh International Airport would begin soon.
