Intoxicated ambulance driver hits car in Kathmandu, one injured



KATHMANDU: An ambulance has hit a private car at Gaushala in Kathmandu.

The private car, Ba 10 Cha 8513, heading toward Airport from Mitra Park was hit by the ambulance, Ba 8 Cha 6928, coming from the opposite direction at around 3 pm on Thursday.

Car driver Sabin Shrestha, 29, of Gongabu in Kathmandu was injured in the collision.

Police have arrested ambulance driver Ram Bahadur Chaudhary, 36, of Pathari Municipality, Morang.

The ambulance driver Chaudhary was found to have consumed alcohol and did not have a driver’s license, according to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala.

The injured car driver has been taken to the hospital for treatment. Police said that further investigation is underway.
