Chandragiri locals beat leopard to death



KATHMANDU: Locals have beaten a leopard to death in Chandragiri Municipality-6 after it attacked locals.

The leopard sneaked into the human settlement from a nearby jungle and attacked seven locals on Wednesday.

According to police, the irate locals gathered together and started attacking the wild beast with spears and sticks.

Police handed over the killed leopard to the Sub Division Forest Office, Thankot.

“The leopard was killed in retaliation after it attacked locals,” DSP Ghana Shyam Shrestha of Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot quoted a local as saying.

Earlier, four leopards had been spotted in Kirtipur.
