Don’t run classes, charge fee during lockdown: Parliamentary committee



KATHMANDU: Education and Health Committee of the House of Representatives has directed the concerned not to admit students, charge fee, run classes and conduct exams during the lockdown.

A meeting of the parliamentary committee held on Wednesday directed the Ministry of Education to ensure that no schools will run classes, exams, and charge fees to the students until the Coronavirus pandemic turns to normal.

Lawmakers in the meeting took a decision to this effect after private schools started running online classes and charging fees to the students saying that all the students cannot have access to all the information technology.

The meeting also directed not to run SEE, Grade XI and XII exams immediately arguing that the present condition is not suitable for it due to Coronavirus pandemic.

Chaired by Jayapuri Gharti, lawmakers Khagaraj Adhikari, Chitra Lekha Yadav, Jivram Shrestha, Gagan Kumar Thapa, Nabina Lama, Bhairab Bahadur Singh, Suresh Kumar Rai, Anjana Bishankhe, Namita Chaudhari expressed their views in the meeting.
