KATHMANDU: Social activist and scientist Mahabir Pun who took initiative in preparing PPE in Nepal is leading the team to prepare PPE booth in Bhaktapur.
Keeping in mind the health risks the medics looking after the coronavirus victims are exposed to, Pun has started working on PPE booth making.
“We decided to work on it so that the health risks the medics are facing can be minimized,” he said, “the booth will be made of aluminium and the cost for it is borne by various groups.”
He has been preparing PPE and distributing them along with mask, gloves and goggles to the doctors.
The social activists and scientists has already made PPE booth and sent to Maharajgunj based Teaching Hospital, Army Hospital, Bir Hospital and Bhaktapur Hospital in Kathmandu valley. Some more booths are sent to Kailali, Pokhara, Butwal and Birtamod.
The one being made in Mahalaxmi Aluminium Bhaktapur is made of aluminium.
“ We have been getting order from many places,” he said, “ we help them with the booths we have and for those who ask for technical help we offer that help as well.”
His team has the ideas if not enough money to materialize all of them. Since corona outbreak in Nepal, Pun and his team are working day and night to support the country with various health materials in high demand in the country.
