Police arrest 1,331 for defying lockdown on early Tuesday

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 1,331 people for defying lockdown from various places in the Kathmandu Valley until 8 am on Tuesday.

According to police, 1,076 among those arrested are men while 255 are women. Similarly, police have taken 338 vehicles under control that were used defying the lockdown.

Police have been urging the people to stay at home and not to come out of their houses unless it is very urgent during the lockdown.

The government on Monday extended the nationwide lockdown until April 15 in an effort to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus in the country.
