COVID-19 infects over 1.3 million globally, spreads to 209 countries



KATHMANDU: With the coronavirus going pandemic across the world, as many as 1,345,048 people have been infected with the novel virus as of Tuesday morning.

According to latest figures collated by Worldometer, the total number of deaths has reached 74, 642 after 5, 215 died in the last 24 hours.

A total of 72, 726 have been infected in a single day. Currently, 992, 552 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the world, of which 47, 517 are critical. Meanwhile, 278, 413 have returned home after recovery.

Likewise, the number of death toll from coronavirus in the United States of America has climbed to 10, 866.

According to reports, 1, 250 died in the last 24 hours taking the death toll from the novel virus to 10, 866.

There has been a sharp increase in both the infection and death rate in America of late. New York City is the worst-hit with 3, 485 deaths.

With 30, 207 new cases in a single day, the number of infection cases has surged to 366, 880 so far.

Currently, 336, 358 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the country, of which the condition of 8, 878 people is critical.

Meanwhile, 19, 6556 have recovered after treatment.

Similarly, the number of death toll from coronavirus in Italy has reached 16, 523.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, 636 died in the last 24hours taking the death toll from the novel virus to 16, 523.

With 3,599 new cases in a single day, the number of infection cases has surged to 132, 545 so far.

As many as 93, 187 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the country of which the condition of 3, 898 people is critical.

Meanwhile, 22, 837 have recovered after treatment.

Spain, the second worst-hit country in terms of death, has reported 13, 341 as of Tuesday morning.

With 5, 029 new cases in a single day, the number of infection cases in the country has reached 136, 675.

Currently, 82, 897 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals, of which 6, 931 are said to be critical.
