KAVRE: The stone crusher industries run without meeting the standard here have been asked to shut down operation.
The three days ultimatum given to Dhaneshwori Crusher Industry at Khadpu of Panauti municipality-5 has been over.
It had been operative since 2052 BS without meeting criteria set by the government. The district-level monitoring committee asked this industry to stop operation after conducting the inspection visit.
The industry operator Sesh Narayan Suwal was directed to close down the business after finishing the sale of current stock, according to Chief of District Coordination Committee, Uddhav KC. Similarly, Om Satyasai Stone Crusher of Roshi rural municipality-7, Pashupati Pebble-Stone Industry of Namabuddha municipality-4 and SS Pebble-Stone Industry have also been asked to furnish legal documents of industry operation within three days.
Chief District Officer Shrawan Kumar Timalsina shared that the stone crusher industries running without meeting legal criteria would be closed. Before directing for the closure of industry, monitoring is conducted thoroughly.
Moreover, Senior Superintendent of Police, Rabi Kumar Poudel, also informed that he has directed the subordinate bodies in the district to close down he illegally run stone crusher industries.
During the monitoring, it was found that sand was excessively excavated by violating the contract; crushers were set up near rivers and in the middle of highway and near school and forest.
Some of them also encroached upon public land. “The encroachment upon public land will be investigated soon,” Chief of District Coordination Committee vowed. Most of the stone crusher industries had not placed the signboard mentioning clearly the time for excavation, excavated amount and information of contact person.
