Ministry instructs hospitals not to take additional costs on Covid-19 pretext



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has instructed the private hospitals to refrain from charging additional fees from the patients in the name of health care services on the pretext of Covid-19.

The Ministry made its view clear as comments on additional fees charge by some private hospitals were reported in the recent time.

Assistant Spokesperson of the Ministry Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari said that the hospitals would face music as per the laws if they were found collecting additional fees from the patients under the pretext of Covid-19.

The Ministry’s serious attention has been drawn to this issue as some private hospitals were collecting additional fees in all sorts of health care services under the pretext of Covid-19, Dr Adhikari said issuing a notice.
