Four held with a host of firecrackers



SUNSARI: Police have arrested four people with four sacks of firecrackers from Itahari Sub Metropolitan City-8, Pushpalal Chowk, in Sunsari district.

The arrested are Satam Ansari of Inaruwa-9, Dinesh Ram, 20, of Harinagar-2, Ranjit Sardar of Itahari-13, and Shanta Kumari Chaudhari of Itahari-12, informed DSP Narendra Kumar Karki of District Police Office, Sunsari.

Acting on a tip-off that firecrackers are being smuggled from India and sold in Itahari, police arrested them, said Karki.

Police have intensified their vigil in the area to crack down the illegal smuggling of firecrackers, of late, with the Tihar festival, the second biggest festival of Hindus, just around the corner.
