Cold grips Valley as mercury goes down



KATHMANDU: Cold has gripped the Kathmandu Valley as the mercury plummeted to 10 degree Celsius on Saturday morning.

The temperature in the capital was recorded at 10.4 degree Celsius at 6 am on Friday

Not only in the Valley, the temperature gone down across the country, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

The temperature in Jumla has dipped to minus 1 degree Celsius. It has gone down in other parts of the country, too, said Pratibha Manandhar, a meteorologist.

Dense fog is forecast with the mercury gradually plumetting in various parts of the country, according to Manandhar.

Eastern Tarai region is likely to witness dense fog this afternoon with partly to generally cloudy weather in the rest of the country, according to a weather bulletin issued by the MFD.
