COVID-19: Youth death rate in Nepal higher compared to developed countries



KATHMANDU: Among those who died from the coronavirus in Nepal, 29.6 percent are below 50 years of age.

According to the statistics, 663 people have died from coronavirus until Tuesday. Of them 169 are below 50 years of age.

Most of them are aged 40 to 45 while those above 50 years account for 70 percent.

According to Dr Samir Kumar Upadhyaya, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, the percentage rate of the coronavirus deaths below 50 years of age in Nepal is higher compared to the developed countries.

Experts have also stated that the death rate of youths from the virus is higher compared to that of developed countries.
