KATHMANDU: Defending champion Mumbai Indians has defeated Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs in a cricket match held under the Indian Premier League in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Mumbai notched up 193 runs losing four wickets in 20 overs. Rajasthan was all out for 136 while chasing the 194-run target in 18.1 overs.
Mumbai’s Suryakumar Yadav top-scored with 79 runs including 11 fours and one six off 47 balls and remained not out. He was also declared Player of the Match.
Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, James Pattinson bowled brilliantly to secure win for Mumbai.
Bumrah took four wickets conceding 20 runs while Boult took two wickets giving away 26 runs. Similarly, James Pattison grabbed two wickets at the cost of 19 runs.
This is the fourth win for Mumbai and third defeat for Rajasthan in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League underway in the UAE.
